Synopsis

Dany and his gang ("gumi" in Japanese) fight for a very special cause: littering. On the boundaries of legality, their actions consist in chasing after the evildoers to punish them. Director

Antoine Humbert

Antoine Humbert is a 45 year-old swiss filmmaker with a rather unusual background. Passionate about cinema since a young age, once his baccalaureate obtained, Antoine went to Canada to study at the “Vancouver Film School”. He was selected there among 25 students to direct one of the 4 graduation films of the class, “Customary Angst”. After a first independent short film written and directed in Vancouver (“Piss-full Day”), unable to obtain a working permit to work in the Canadian film industry, Antoine decided to go back to Switzerland to pursue a more “standard” path. He studied Japanese and English language and literature at the Geneva University, and did an exchange year at the University of Foreign Languages of Tokyo. Once his Master’s Degree finished with a thesis about the filmmaker Akira Kurosawa, Antoine went back to Tokyo to work for the national radio NHK among other activities. There, he participated in various Japanese film projects, and appeared as an extra in a few commercials, among which, one with the actor Ken Watanabe (“The Last Samurai”, “Inception”). Back in Switzerland in 2015, Antoine did an internship at a local TV company in Lausanne to work as a cameraman and editor. After that, he started to earn a living by teaching French in language schools and doing Japanese-French translations as a freelancer, while starting to develop scripts and develop film projects. Antoine managed to make his first independent film in Switzerland in 2018, “No Path, No Way”. He has since written and directed 1 film every year, with his last one, the 7th in 7 years, "The Dany-Gumi". These 7 films have been entirely self-produced, with low budgets not even reaching 1000 dollars. His 2020 movie “Sister Austere” got selected in 5 festivals around the world. "The Cell-Phone Virus" is selected in the upcoming "Cineglobe" festival in Geneva, Switzerland. Today, Antoine is working as a subtitle and audio-description creator for the national Swiss TV RTS. He devotes all his free time developing his movie projects and writing screenplays.
